Welcome to the Nanophotonic Device Research Group (NPDG) in CREOL, The
College of Optics & Photonics at the University of Central
Florida. The research group, directed by
Prof. Winston
V. Schoenfeld, was started in 2004 to expand and diversify the in-house
production of nanophotonic devices at the
College of Optics and Photonics. The group was the first to establish molecular beam
epitaxial growth at
UCF, supporting both oxide and nitride-based wide band gap
semiconductor compounds. Primary research activities in the group include
epitaxial growth of deep-UV solar blind oxide semiconductors, deep-UV
detectors and emitters, hybrid organic-inorganic photovoltaics, quantum dot
based quantum networks, and advanced light emitting diode (LED) displays and
systems.
